In this course students will learn the principles of argumentation and debate distinguishing between personal opinions and supported arguments. Students will learn how to support their arguments with proper claims, evidence, stakeholder analysis, conducting effective research and having an understanding of past claims or incidents that relate to the case. Students are asked to go beyond their personal opinions and need to find evidence from articles, newspapers, media sources, books, etc. Students can choose from approximately 7-10 topics to focus and research the topic of their choice for 2 weeks before presenting their evidence and determine one group as the winner of their case.

En este curso, los estudiantes aprenderán los principales discutidores de debate distinguiendo sobre opiniones personales y argumentos apoyados. Los estudiantes aprenderán cómo apoyar sus argumentos con reclamaciones adecuadas, con evidencia, con análisis de partes interesadas, realizando investigación efectiva, mientras toman en cuenta incidentes del pasado cuales son relacionados al mismo caso con comprensión de reclamaciones pasadas. Se les pide a los estudiantes que investiguen más allá de sus opiniones con la necesidad de encontrar evidencia por medio de artículos, periódicos, y diferentes fuentes de medios o libros, etc. Los estudiantes tendrán aproximadamente de 7 a 10 temas de cuales escoger alguno al cual se enfocarán por 2 semanas hasta presentar su evidencia y se determine un grupo ganador del caso.
