Yuyi Morales is an award winning and best selling author and illustrator of latino children's books which best portray and celebrate the Latino cultural experience through her outstanding illustrations and literature. She has been awarded the Pura Belpre Award for illustrations in her books and is the first latina Caldecott Honor recipient, among many other recognitions to her amazing work. 

To honor her vibrant work as author and illustrator, join us as local Shafter artist Lorena Castillo hosts a Paint by Number night to create a portrait of Yuyi Morales that will add color to our library! We hope you can join us!
